SheRose believes in the power of education. 1 in 2 girls in Malawi are forced into child marriages before their 18th birthday, to men much older than them. They are forced to leave school and take care of their families. This perpetuates education barriers and gender inequality. Above all else, it continues the cycle of poverty.
Our primary aim is to eradicate child marriages by:

SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMME
We believe that education is a powerful tool for transforming lives, yet many girls in Malawi face significant financial barriers that prevent them from accessing further education. Recognising this challenge, SheRose has established a comprehensive sponsorship programme aimed at supporting girls who have been selected for further education but whose families are unable to afford the associated costs.
The SheRose Sponsorship Programme is designed to offer a holistic approach to educational support. Our sponsorship programme goes beyond tuition and examination fees. We provide a monthly package and a quarterly package to ensure that each student is fully equipped for their educational journey.
The sponsorship includes:

Tuition and Examination Fees: Covers the full cost of school fees and national examination fees to relieve the financial burden on families.

Monthly Package: Includes essential personal care items such as food, toiletries, and other basic necessities to support the student's well-being.

Quarterly Package: Provides school essentials such as school shoes, a backpack, a torch, and mathematical tools to ensure that students have the resources they need for effective learning.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMME
The Entrepreneurship and Business Management training program is designed to equip girls and women from rural communities with the skills and knowledge necessary to create and grow sustainable businesses. This programme seeks to build their capacity to become financially independent, ultimately contributing to poverty alleviation and economic empowerment. By fostering entrepreneurship, we aim to provide these women with a pathway to stability, self-sufficiency, and resilience against economic and social vulnerabilities.
The training program is delivered through a series of structured workshops, mentorship sessions, and hands-on learning experiences. The curriculum includes fundamental business concepts such as:

MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME
Our mentoring program is designed to empower girls from economically disadvantaged backgrounds by equipping them with the tools, skills, and support they need to navigate academics, enhance their mental health and wellbeing, and develop essential life skills. By addressing systemic barriers and providing a nurturing environment, the program seeks to bridge opportunity gaps, foster resilience, and enable girls to achieve their full potential in life.
Key Objectives
We believe that our mentoring program will play a pivotal role in helping girls avoid child marriage by empowering them with education, self-confidence, and life skills. Our programme works to provide support in the following areas:

Academic Support: Provide tailored guidance to help girls excel in their studies, build confidence, and set meaningful academic goals. Our starting point is in understanding the girls' academic needs and the challenges/barriers they face; then we tailor our support to work with girls towards overcoming these challenges.

Mental Health and Wellbeing: We aim to create a safe space for emotional expression, teach coping mechanisms, and provide access to mental health resources. We aim to develop trust with the girls and provide 1-1 opportunities for them to share their struggles with us, so we can provide resources and support that will improve their wellbeing.

Life Skills Development: We aim to offer training and guidance in essential life skills such as communication, problem-solving, and decision-making to prepare them for independent, successful lives. We want to help raise girls who are confident and able to advocate for themselves.
